This site is 100% managed & paid for by Montcalm County Citizens & ONLY LOCAL DONATIONS.
It is intended to be a source of communication & information for Montcalm County (& other area) citizens to encourage involvement in our grassroots movement to keep our communities beautiful & safe from the proposed industrial wind turbine invasion in our area.

PLEASE ATTEND TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETINGS!
It is EXTREMELY important that we all attend & participate in upcoming Township Board & Planning Commission meetings so our voices can be heard. While we attempt to keep updated meeting dates & times on this website, it is also important that area residents check their township webpages AND the door on your township hall to make sure dates & times have not been changed or updated.

NOTE: If a township page has not yet been created, that is because we do not yet have anyone volunteering as a coordinator to step forward to coordinate residents in that township .
This means that the loudest voice that the Township Board Members will be hearing from is
Apex ("BIG WIND") & those aligned with them.
In other words: Unless the citizens in your community join together with a united voice to KEEP BIG WIND OUT, you WILL soon be living under numerous 600' industrial wind turbines!

There are NUMEROUS resources available regarding the negative impacts of INDUSTRIAL WIND TURBINES on the economy, the environment, wildlife, property values, & our health (among others).
Please take the time to read up on the credible research studies and listen to the personal testimonies from people who have been negatively impacted by INDUSTRIAL WIND TURBINES.
We HIGHLY encourage you to do your research before buying the slick sales pitch from BIG WIND & those that have already been bought & paid for by them.

Planet of the Humans explores the environmental movement and how it has failed to fix environmental concerns such as climate change. One claim made by the documentary is that clean energy, such as wind and solar, does not produce sufficient energy to sustain us without aid from fossil fuels. Another claim examined is that some leaders and organizations in the environmental movement support biomass energy, which is not sustainable, renewable, or carbon neutral.
The documentary features both street and formal interviews, archive footage of business and environmental leaders, as well as footage of biomass facilities and the construction of wind turbines and wind farms.
The film’s purpose is to encourage discussions about humanity’s impact on the environment besides climate change. These issues include overpopulation, mass species extinction caused by humans, and whether or not green energy can fix these problems.

While we are NOT absolutely against renewable energy all together, we ARE strong advocates for RESPONSIBLE PLACEMENT in order to keep our families & wildlife in our communities HEALTHY & SAFE.
Pierson & Sidney Townships have developed and passed examples of the kind of RESPONSIBLE wind (& solar) ordinances we STRONGLY encourage our township board officials to reference & pass in EACH township in Montcalm County.

WE NEED EVERYONE TO DO THEIR PART TO HELP OUR COMMUNITIES

Attend & speak up at your township board & PC meetings to demand:
FOR THE HEALTH, SAFETY, & WELL-BEING OF MONTCALM COUNTY CITIZENS, WE NEED TO DEMAND & INSIST THAT THESE ARE INCLUDED IN OUR TOWNSHIP ORDINANCES:
1. TO MINIMIZE NOISE: 45 dba LMAX (maximum) is needed from PROPERTY LINES, not LEQ (average), as the Apex Salesmen (specifically Brian O'Shea) suggested!!
2. NO SHADOW FLICKER on non-participating properties
3. Setbacks from PROPERTY LINES (not homes) that are AT LEAST 4.1 x's the height from the highest point/TIP of the blade!!
Per Big Wind's OWN Safety Manual - 400' turbines require a 1640' safety zone (which is 4.1 times the height); so the proposed 670' turbines they want to place here would require a 2747' SAFETY ZONE setback from non-participating property lines would be the equivalent recommendation 670' x 4.1= 2747' !!
